New poster designs

Published on July 28, 2023 by Arpad Ray

I'm pleased to anounce three new poster designs are now available on Repography. From left to right:

  • "Cross" links the file structure of the repo on the left, with the committers on the right.
  • "Tower" is based on a radial tree map of the file structure, extruded in height depending on the commit activity.
  • "Core" plots the links between different different files and directories, depending on copresence in commits.

Each design is available as a PNG download, rolled posters, and also mounted on acryclic perspex panels.

There are a few themes to choose from too. My personal favourite is inspired by the iconic orange of the London Borough of Camden. It seems to have fallen out of fashion now but it's firmly embedded in my childhood memory!

P.S. The CLI analyser is now open source

An unrelated change which I think is still worth bringing attention to: I've published the CLI analyser on GitHub so now anyone can review the code to make sure it's doing what it says on the tin. Feedback is welcome!

I've been meaning to do this for a while, because I think people are right to be wary of copying and pasting a command into their terminal. Now you can clone the repo, inspect the code for yourself, and build and run it locally.

I'm still planning on making the rest of the Repography code base Open Source, but that's going to take a while longer. The CLI analyser felt worthwhile to break out and publish sooner.
